Terms & Conditions
Terms of use for this website.
These terms set out the basis on which you may use this website, and how our engagement with clients is governed. Please read them alongside our Privacy Notice.
In short: this website provides general information about our services. Your actual engagement with us — including scope of work and fees — is always governed by a written engagement letter agreed before we start work.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of this website. If you engage Fiat Justitia for advocacy or casework services, that engagement is governed separately by a written engagement letter agreed between us, which takes precedence over anything on this website.
2. Who we are
Fiat Justitia is an independent, fee-charging advocacy and casework business operating in the United Kingdom. We are not a regulated law firm, we are not solicitors, and we do not provide reserved legal activities within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007.
3. Use of this website
The content on this website is provided for general information only. It does not constitute legal advice, and it does not create an advocate–client relationship between you and Fiat Justitia. You should not rely on website content as a substitute for advice on your specific circumstances.
4. Enquiries
Submitting an enquiry through this website does not commit you to engaging our services, and does not commit us to accepting your case. Enquiries are confidential and are used only to assess your situation and respond to you. An engagement begins only when we have issued, and you have accepted, a written engagement letter.
5. Fees
Our fees are set out on our How We Work page and are indicative only. The applicable fee for your matter is agreed in writing in your engagement letter before any work begins. We do not offer no-win, no-fee arrangements.
6. Scope of services
Where your matter requires regulated legal services — including court proceedings requiring a qualified solicitor or barrister — we will say so and will help you identify and instruct an appropriate regulated professional. We do not provide such services ourselves.
7. Liability
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee it is complete, current, or fit for your purposes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss arising from use of, or reliance on, this website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Intellectual property
The content, design, and branding of this website are owned by Fiat Justitia. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, or use our content commercially without our written permission.
9. Third-party links
This website may link to third-party websites and organisations (such as ombudsman schemes and government services). These links are provided for convenience; we do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content or services.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Continued use of the website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to enquiries@fiatjustitia.co.uk or submitted through our enquiry form.
