Privacy

How we handle your information.

We take confidentiality seriously — it is fundamental to advocacy. This notice explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

Confidentiality at a glance

  • Enquiries are confidential and used only to assess and respond to your case.
  • We never sell your information or share it without your consent.
  • You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

What information we collect

When you submit an enquiry, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, optional phone number, the area of concern you select, the urgency of your matter, and your description of your situation. We do not collect sensitive personal details through the enquiry form, and we ask you not to include them at the enquiry stage.

Why we use your information

We use your information for one purpose: to assess your enquiry, respond to you, and — if you choose to engage us — to carry out your casework. We do not use enquiry information for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties without your consent.

Lawful basis

We process enquiry information on the basis of your consent (given when you submit the form) and, where you become a client, for the performance of our contract with you as set out in your engagement letter.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained for up to 12 months and then securely deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Client records are retained in line with our engagement terms and our professional record-keeping obligations.

Where it is stored

Enquiry submissions are stored securely in our website's database, which is accessible only to Fiat Justitia staff responsible for assessing cases. Enquiries submitted through the website are never visible to other visitors.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased in certain circumstances, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have mishandled your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at enquiries@fiatjustitia.co.uk.
